Business Management
For 10 years I was Group Managing Director for 3 companies that offered a wide range of very different products and services.
Fighting daily battles to boost turnover and profit taught me that indecision can be far worse than a bad decision and how, as a business owner, your own ego could be your most expensive liability.
The Group was renowned for it's innovative marketing campaigns and eye-catching literature, and high-profile industry awards provided some of the highlights of my professional life.
However, painful memories of cash-flow management and the stress of prolonged drives to improve performance will forever effect my outlook on how to win in business whilst keeping sight of what makes life pleasurable.
If you want the advice and guidance of someone who has achieved exceptional results but also understands the pitfalls of tunnel vision - then I hope you look no further.

IT and web design
I began my computing career in the 1980's when programs were written on punch cards and I still had hair.
I spent a number of years designing and writing software in languages like Cobol and Informix and worked on complex accounting projects for national chains of Builders merchants. The most complex pricing structure imaginable!
Needing a break from the brain-drain of complex programming I became a salesman for IT systems and progressed to become National Sales and Marketing Manager for a major IT provider.
But once you have the "programming bug" you crave the infuriating pleasure of complex problem solving and so my love-affair with web site design began.
Creating business web sites in HTML (the hidden language of the web) and using tools like Dreamweaver and Microsoft FrontPage.
Although I spend endless hours on the internet and can talk "techie" when needed, I am proudly still fluent in plain English.

Design and communication
A move to glorious Tenerife in 2004 has provided the time and space for my personal and business skills to gain new facets.
Writing for a number of magazines and papers has allowed me to refine my communication skills using the written word - and what is the internet if not endless words (and some nice pictures) on a PC screen?
And working daily as an interior designer has taught me a great deal about the use of space, light and colour as a communicator of mood and character.
