My approach to creating internet sites is designed to be more "personal" than many larger web design companies
as designing web pages has to be more than some technical wizardry with flashes of colour.

You are entrusting me to create a site that conveys your companies character and your personal motivations.

I believe that I can build a web site for your company that you would have created yourself, given the right tools, guidance and time.

A few of my more recent projects are featured below.

Voodou salons Liverpool

Voodou are a chain of 5 (soon to be 6) large hairdressing salons in Liverpool, Northwest England.

In mid 2006 we embarked on a project to produce a new web site that not only provided all the information that a prospective client may need, but to also convey some of the character and enthusiasm of this very successful company.

Promoting a hairdressing company through a web presence has unique difficulties in that you are not offering commodity products, competitive pricing is less of an issue and you are appealing to a local audience with perhaps some prior knowledge of the company.

We decided that their web site should reflect the very relaxed atmosphere of the salons and the fun-loving personalities of the staff. The reason most people will return time and time again to a favourite salon is often about their relationship with their stylist, and so the Voodou web site tries to establish a personal relationship with visitors.

We have shunned the over-used glamour shots employed by other hairdressing sites as we want to appeal to a clients who can see beyond hype to a company that strives to be technically perfect whilst never losing sight of the importance of being friendly.

Take a look at the Voodou web site at www.voodou.co.uk

Global Salon Award

In the Spring of 2006 I helped Voodou with their lengthy submission to the Global Salon Awards.

This prestigious event was held at the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona and was attended by many of the leading hairdressing companies from five continents. Celebrating business performance, marketing campaigns and exceptional client care, the awards are not about hair cutting and colouring - but about the business of running very successful salons.

We were all overjoyed when the MD of Voodou, Robbie Webb, was awarded UK Salon Entrepreneur of the year, the highest accolade at this glittering event.

Preparing the award submission presented the problem of how to distill the essence of a company, its wonderful staff and the energy obvious to any visitor into a 30 page essay. The considerable time spent on our submission to the awards were however, the perfect foundation for the new Voodou web site.

Conveying emotion, character and a company ethos through words and static images has become a personal passion, and the successes of Voodou over the past 18 months shows that good people do win when their message is clearly presented.

Style Tenerife Love seat

Style are a furniture design and upholstery company based on the sunny island of Tenerife

Their web site has been designed to offer an uncluttered and stylish backdrop to their beautiful furniture and is regularly updated with new images.

Some image manipulation techniques have been used to add to visitor experience including before-and-after image swapping, but that is a technical detail, so let's keep the spotlight deservedly on the product and the company.

We hope you love the glamorous furniture and like the understated web site - www.styletenerife.com

Style Tenerife chaise

When designing web sites for clients I always strive to get "under the skin" of the company and share in their enthusiasm for their products and services.

My enthusiasm for the stunning furniture creations of the Style designer, Mike Belshaw, need NO encouragement.
