In the Spring of 2006 I helped Voodou with their lengthy submission to the Global Salon Awards.
This prestigious event was held at the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona and was attended by many of the leading hairdressing companies from five continents. Celebrating business performance, marketing campaigns and exceptional client care, the awards are not about hair cutting and colouring - but about the business of running very successful salons.
We were all overjoyed when the MD of Voodou, Robbie Webb, was awarded UK Salon Entrepreneur of the year, the highest accolade at this glittering event.
Preparing the award submission presented the problem of how to distill the essence of a company, its wonderful staff and the energy obvious to any visitor into a 30 page essay. The considerable time spent on our submission to the awards were however, the perfect foundation for the new Voodou web site.
Conveying emotion, character and a company ethos through words and static images has become a personal passion, and the successes of Voodou over the past 18 months shows that good people do win when their message is clearly presented.
